Stand Up and Be Counted – those who dared not to fight in World War One

Cyril Pearce will give an overview of COs in WW1 Britain including his conclusions from studying conscientious objectors, largely Socialists, initially in Huddersfield.  Also how he has widened his search creating the CO Database to map 1914-18 war resistance and the implications of his work for other groups with an interest in the subject, including the International Bible Students Association.  Cyril will include a recent discovery (the ‘Chichester Autograph Book’) which brings to life the history of IBSA COs.
