Two exhibitions of Artists of the East London Group

From Mile End to Mayfair: The East London Group & their contemporaries

Mon to Fri: 10am-3pm, Sat: 10am–5pm. 2 September 2017 to 6 January 2018
Southampton City Art Gallery, Civic Centre, Commercial Rd, Southampton SO14 7LY

The East London Group was formed from evening classes in Bow in East London in the mid-1920s. The majority of the members were working East End men and women. Walter Sickert mentored the group and the exhibition explores this link. Many of the Group’s iconic pieces will be on display, some of which have not been seen in public for more than eighty years.
